Stay Calm — Help is Closer Than You Think
A flat tyre in Leeds doesn't have to ruin your day. Whether you're stuck on the A64, pulled over on the ring road, or in a car park in the city centre, Leeds Tyre Guys offer rapid-response emergency tyre repair across West Yorkshire — typically arriving within 60 minutes.
What to Do When You Get a Flat Tyre
First, don't brake sharply. Gradually reduce speed, indicate, and pull off the road safely. Turn on your hazard lights immediately. If you're on a motorway, exit at the nearest junction if possible — never change a tyre on a live motorway hard shoulder. Once safe, assess the damage. Look for a puncture, sidewall bulge, or complete blowout.
If you have a spare tyre and it's safe to use, you can fit it temporarily. However, most modern cars now come with a tyre repair kit (foam sealant) or run-flat tyres instead of a spare. If the puncture is repairable, our technician can vulcanise patch it on-site — saving you the cost of a full replacement.
Can a Puncture Be Repaired?
According to British Standard BSAU159, a tyre puncture can be repaired if the hole is in the central three-quarters of the tread (the crown), is no larger than 6mm, and the tyre shows no secondary damage. Sidewall punctures cannot be safely repaired and require a full tyre replacement. Our technicians will always assess the damage honestly and never recommend replacement unless it's genuinely necessary.
